Champion Lorenzo Parra of Venezuela defeated Japan's Takefumi Sakata on Monday to retain his WBA flyweight title.
Parra outscored Sakata on two of the three judge's scorecards at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall to improve to 26-0 with 17 knockouts.
Judge Guy Jutras scored the bout 115-113 in favor of Parra, judge Medardo Villalobos scored it 114-113 in Parra's favor while judge Silvestre Abainza scored the match a draw.
Sakata dropped to 24-3-1 with 10 knockouts.
Parra first captured the WBA flyweight title in December 2003 when he defeated American Eric Morel.
