FC Tokyo said Tuesday midfielder Naohiro Ishikawa, who has drawn a transfer offer from Italian club Treviso, will remain with the J. League first-division side.
Ishikawa, a member of Japan's Athens Olympic squad, has agreed to stay with FC Tokyo after holding talks with club officials who told the 24-year-old of their intention to retain his services.
"It gave me an opportunity to consider a number of things about my future and I believe it was a plus for my career," Ishikawa said of the offer from the newly promoted Serie A side.
"I'll continue trying my best (in the J. League) in order to receive an offer from an overseas club again," he said.
The attacking midfielder has played in all 21 of FC Tokyo's J. League first-division games so far this season, scoring three goals.
