Alex Cabrera hit his 21st homer of the season and reached his 200th career homer run in his 538th game in Japan -- the fastest in Japanese pro baseball history.

Wada homered to give Seibu a 2-1 lead in the fifth and had a two-run single in a three-run sixth as the Lions extended the lead to 5-1 at Invoice Seibu Dome.

Kazuya Fukuura hit a two-run blast in the seventh as Lotte pulled within 7-3.

Kazuyuki Hoashi (9-5) got the win after yielding three runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings.

Takeuchi leads Japan

Shinichi Takeuchi homered and Japan powered past the United States 6-2 to claim the title for the second straight year at the baseball collegiate championship Monday.

Takeuchi hit a two-run homer to put the host on the board at Tokyo Dome in the opening frame and Japan added insurance runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh to win its third straight game of the five-game series.

Soka University pitcher Tomoya Yagi pitched one-run ball over eight effective innings to notch the win.
