Reigning Olympic champion Koji Murofushi and 400-meter hurdler Dai Tamesue are among the 39 Japanese selected to compete in the world championships this summer, the Japan Association of Athletics Federations said Monday.
Hammer thrower Murofushi and 100-meter sprinter Nobuharu Asahara will be making their sixth appearance at a world championships when they take part in the Aug. 6-14 event in Helsinki.
Tamesue and four others were newly added to the list after qualifying through the national championships.
