A world title match scheduled for next month in Tokyo between WBA bantamweight champion Wladmir Sidorenko and Japanese challenger Manabu Fukushima has been postponed, Japanese gym officials said Thursday.
Officials from JB Sports Gym said the Ukrainian champion is recovering from an injury and will not be fit in time to fight Fukushima on June 4 at Tokyo's Korakuen Hall.
The bout, which will be Fukushima's second shot at a world title and Sidorenko's first title defense, will most likely be rescheduled for sometime in October at the same venue.
