Mongolian Asashoryu moved into sole possession of the lead at the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament on Saturday after a lopsided win over Tamanoshima.
Yokozuna Asashoryu grabbed hold of Tamanoshima's arm in the day's final bout at Ryogoku Kokugikan and flung the struggling top maegashira over the straw ridge to improve to a perfect 7-0. Tamanoshima fell to 2-5.
