The NHK Mile Cup G1 race ended in a surprise one-two victory Sunday at Tokyo Racecourse, as two fillies bested an 18-strong mostly male field of 3-year-olds.
Rhein Kraft, coming off a win of the Okasho (1,000 Guineas) and at second pick, was no surprise as the winner, but runnerup Daring Heart, as the race's 10th choice, brought the exacta to a 64-fold return at the windows.
