Tatsuya Ozeki drove in the winning run with a single in the bottom of the ninth inning Monday to lift the Seibu Lions to a 2-1 walkoff victory over the Chiba Lotte Marines.
Jose Fernandez gave the Lions a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the third with his second homer of the season, a two-out solo homer off Lotte starter Dan Serafini. But the Marines tied the game in the top of the ninth on a two-out pinch-hit single by Tsuyoshi Nishioka.
Ozeki's sinking liner to right field off Lotte reliever Yoshihiko Yabuta gave the Lions their second straight win.
Closer Kiyoshi Toyoda picked up the win despite giving up the game-tying run in the top of the ninth. Yabuta took the loss.
