Japan Football Association vice president Junji Ogura on Tuesday said North Korea is moving ahead with preparations to accept Japanese supporters for a 2006 World Cup qualifier in Pyongyang this summer.
According to JFA staff who visited Pyongyang last week to inspect the match venue and discuss the admission of Japan supporters, North Korean officials agreed in principle to accept Japanese supporters and asked the JFA to give them the actual number of fans it expects to travel to the reclusive communist state.
North Korea is expected to appoint a domestic agency to handle the travel arrangements with the details to be ironed out at a later date.
