International midfielder Koji Nakata returned to Japan on Sunday after completing his move to Marseille and said he is determined to make his mark at the French first-division club.

"I don't just want to turn out for this team, I want to make sure I play solidly and produce results," said Nakata.

"But at the moment I just feel really tired," added the 25-year-old, who returned to Japan after a four-day round trip for the Asian champions' friendly against Syria in Saitama on Wednesday and the crucial World Cup qualifier at home to North Korea on Feb. 9.

Marseille manager Philippe Troussier earlier said he felt confident that Nakata would make a decent contribution at Marseille following the acquisition of the versatile player.
