Japan's women's national team clobbered Taiwan 11-0 in an international friendly Saturday to give Hiroshi Ohashi a winning start as new national team coach.
Playing its first match since reaching the quarterfinals of the Athens Olympics under Eiji Ueda, Japan tore its opponent to shreds from the kickoff and was 8-0 up by halftime at Nishigaoka Stadium in Tokyo.
Substitute Ayako Kitamoto and Shinobu Ono both grabbed hat tricks while Eriko Arakawa scored twice.
