Teenage star Ai Miyazato, who won five tournaments in her first full year on the Japan LPGA Tour, said Tuesday she will play in the ANZ Ladies Masters in Australia in February on a sponsor's exemption.
The 19-year-old from Okinawa will play in a strong field in the four-day tournament from Feb. 24 in the Gold Coast, which is sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour. World No. 1 Annika Sorenstam won the event in February this year.
Miyazato will also compete as part of the Japanese team in the Women's World Cup in South Africa on Feb. 11-13 and has qualified for two U.S. LPGA majors -- the Kraft Nabisco Championship in March and the LPGA Championship in June.
