Grand champion Asashoryu was handed his third loss of the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament on Thursday, while ozeki Kaio took sole possession of the lead.
In Thursday's finale at Ryoguku Kokugikan, Asashoryu was shoved back at the faceoff and lost his balance before being shoved out over the straw ridge by sekiwake Miyabiyama.
