Kenshin Kawakami had his eight-game personal winning streak as the Chunichi Dragons fell to the Yakult Swallows 4-2 on Tuesday night.
Takahiro Arai of the Carp belts a three-run homer against the Hanshin Tigers at Hiroshima Stadium. The Carp won 8-5.
The loss was the third in a row for Chunichi.
Kawakami (15-7), who won the CL MVP honors for the month of August, carried a four-hitter into the seventh inning at Nagoya Dome but allowed the Swallows to rebound from a 2-1 deficit on a three-run homer by Katsuyuki Dobashi.
