Shingo Suetsugu, the 200-meter bronze medalist at last year's World Championships, has withdrawn from the upcoming Seiko Super Meet 2004 Yokohama, organizers said Friday.
Suetsugu will end the season without taking part in any more competitions as he has decided to skip the Sept. 23 meet at International Stadium Yokohama as well a Sept. 25-26 corporate meet in Niigata.
After returning to Japan from the Athens Olympics where he failed to reach the men's 100-meter semifinals and opted out of the 200 meters, Suetsugu received treatment for a transverse forefoot arch.
