Japan women's Olympic team star Homare Sawa marked her return from injury on Sunday with a goal for club side Nippon Television in its 3-0 win over Iga FC in the Japanese L. League on Sunday.
Sawa, who had to undergo surgery after damaging her right knee during Japan's Athens Olympic qualifying campaign in April, scored four minutes after coming off the substitutes' bench in the second half to seal the win with the third goal.
"It was my first game back today and I wanted to make some kind of contribution, so I'm really pleased," said Sawa.
