Jose Fernandez made up for costly error Wednesday by slamming a two-run homer Thursday to lead the Seibu Lions to a 3-1 win over the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks.
Fernandez connected off Daiei starter Tsuyoshi Wada in the third inning at Fukuoka Dome to give the Lions a 2-1 lead.
Alex Cabrera drove in an insurance run in the top of the eighth with a sacrifice fly to center field.
Fernandez made a costly throwing error in the seventh inning of Wednesday's game that allowed the Hawks to score two runs on their way to a 5-2 win.
Shinji Mori retired the side in the ninth for the save as the Lions moved back into first place in the Pacific League standings with a half-game lead over Daiei heading into the All-Star break.
