Kazuhiro Kiyohara picked up the 2,000th hit of his career Friday and slammed a solo homer, but it wasn't enough to save the Yomiuri Giants from a 7-4 loss to the Yakult Swallows.
Kiyohara hit a single up the middle in the top of the first inning at Jingu Stadium off Yakult starter Jason Beverlin for his 2,000th hit.
Kiyohara, playing in his 19th season, became the 31st player in the history of Japanese baseball to reach the milestone.
