Tuffy Rhodes drove in the go-ahead run with a double to right field in the eighth inning Friday to lift the Yomiuri Giants to a 7-5 win over the Yokohama BayStars.
Rhodes' drive to the right field corner at Tokyo Dome off Yokohama reliever Takaharu Kato allowed the go-ahead run to score. Yoshinobu Takahashi then added an insurance run with a single to center that scored Rhodes from second before the Giants scored two more runs to take a 7-3 lead.
Tyrone Woods hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth to narrow the gap before Brian Sikorski retired the side to seal the victory.
