Hisashi Iwakuma picked up his ninth straight win Saturday as the Kintetsu Buffaloes downed the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters 5-1.
Iwakuma, who improved to 9-0, struck out 10 batters over the distance at Tokyo Dome while giving up one run on five hits for a complete-game win.
Hirotoshi Kitagawa led the Kintetsu attack going 3-for-4 at the plate and driving in two runs, including a solo home run in the eighth inning.
