At Tokyo Dome, Hitoshi Tamura forced an extra inning on a two-run homer in the eighth inning and Tatsuhiko Kinjo connected for a two-run homer of his own off Hideki Okajima (0-1) in the 10th as Yokohama overcame a three-run deficit against Yomiuri.

Eddie Gaillard (1-1) pitched a hitless ninth for his first win this season in his new role as a setup man while Kazuhiro Sasaki worked the 10th for the save.
