Ai Fukuhara, who booked her ticket to this summer's Athens Olympics through the women's singles competition last week, also won an Olympic berth in doubles with An Konishi in the Asian zone qualifying tournament in China on Tuesday.
The 15-year-old Fukuhara will be making her first Olympic appearance while it will be the second straight time for Konishi, who contributed to Japan's winning of the bronze medal in the team event at the 2001 World Championships.
The Japanese pair, who claimed back-to-back national titles and placed second in the Asian Championships last year, have a 1-5 record with one match remaining to play and are guaranteed seventh place.
