Former Yomiuri Giants manager Shigeo Nagashima, who suffered a stroke early last month, was released from a Tokyo hospital on Monday and moved to a rehabilitation center to undergo physical therapy, Yomiuri spokesman Atsushi Harasawa said.
Nagashima, who has been picked to manage the national team for this summer's Athens Olympics, moved to a Tokyo facility where he will start a physical therapy program for three or four hours per day to improve the mobility of the right side of his body, which was partially paralyzed due to the stroke.
Harasawa said Nagashima has begun walking exercises, adding that it is still unclear when the 68-year-old will be able to return home.
