Former Yomiuri Giants manager Shigeo Nagashima transferred to another Tokyo hospital on Friday to begin a rigorous physical therapy program, Yomiuri spokesman Atsushi Harasawa said the same day.
Nagashima had been hospitalized at the Tokyo Women's Medical University Hospital after suffering a stroke earlier this month but was deemed fit enough to move to another hospital after results from an MRI showed the affected region of his brain had not worsened.
The 68-year-old Nagashima, who has been selected to manage the Japanese national team at this summer's Athens Olympics, transferred to the rehabilitation facility accompanied by family members early Friday morning.
