Flashy Nippon Ham Fighters outfielder Tsuyoshi Shinjo will purchase 100 seats out of his own pocket and invite children to each of the 52 home games at Sapporo Dome this season, officials of the Pacific League club said Wednesday.
The "Shinjo Seat" will be reserved in the stands in left-center so that the kids will be able to watch their sponsor in center field, and the seats will be marked by red covers in accordance with Shinjo's trademark red wristband.
Last December, the former New York Mets player won 10 million yen through a quiz show and said he will use the money to construct a personal billboard at Sapporo Dome.
