Seibu Lions right-hander Shinji Mori was hospitalized Tuesday after he was diagnosed with an irregular pulse rate, which heightens the risk of stroke.
The 29-year-old Mori, who went 7-3 with two saves and a 2.31 ERA in 61 games last season, first showed signs of an irregular pulse late last year and was diagnosed again in a physical checkup Monday. He will remain in hospital for three to five days.
