Japan striker Naohiro Takahara scored his first goal in 15 matches Tuesday with a 51st-minute header in Hamburg SV's 3-2 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt under new coach Klaus Toppmoller.

Takahara gave the visiting side a 2-0 lead with his first goal since August and third this season, only to be substituted in the 72nd minute and see Frankfurt equalize with goals from Ervin Skela and Markus Beierle.

But Sergej Barberez struck five minutes from time to crush the hopes of the 20,000 home supporters.
