Kyodo News Free agent infielder Kazuo Matsui said Thursday he has narrowed his choices of where to play next season to four major league teams.
Although the 28-year-old switch-hitter, with 10 years of playing experience as the Seibu Lions shortstop, did not disclose the names of the teams because they were "in the midst of negotiations," he revealed that they are either on the East or West coasts.
"I think the decision will be made sooner than I thought," said Matsui, who resumed individual training at the Lions' practice field.
