Top seed Goichi Motomura came from a set down to defeat third-seeded Takahiro Terachi in the men's singles final on the last day of the tennis national championships in Tokyo on Sunday.
After dropping the first set, the 29-year-old Motomura regrouped to take the next three sets and the match 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 to claim his second consecutive national title and fourth overall.
The win earned him 2.25 million yen in prize money.
