Feyenoord midfielder Shinji Ono reached an agreement on Tuesday with the Dutch first-division side to extend his contract by one year to 2007, soccer sources said.

Ono made the announcement after negotiating a revision to his contract but the details of his annual salary were not released.

The Japanese midfielder initially joined Feyenoord on a five-year deal from the Urawa Reds of the J. League.

The Dutch side requested that he renew his contract and he readily accepted.

"I still had time left on my contract but they made me a good offer, so I decided to extend," Ono said.
