Dai Tamesue, the 2001 world 400-meter hurdles bronze medalist, will leave the Osaka Gas athletics team at the end of this month, club officials said Monday.
The Japanese record holder will sign up with Sunny Side Up, the management company of Parma midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata and 100- and 200-meter breaststroke double world record holder Kosuke Kitajima, with a plan to look for a personal sponsorship deal.
Tamesue failed to make the men's 400-meter hurdles finals at this year's World Championships.
