Japan will play Romania in a friendly in Bucharest on Oct. 11 as the first game of a planned European tour, a top soccer official said Friday.
Japan Football Association General Secretary Takeo Hirata said Japan, which has so far lost many of its matches under Brazilian coach Zico, is also expected to play a friendly prior to that, probably on Oct. 8 against Tunisia, which Japan beat during last year's World Cup finals.
