KOMATSU, Ishikawa Pref. -- Taichi Teshima produced a flawless 8-under-par 64 on Friday to establish a one-stroke lead at the midway point of the 120 million yen Aiful Cup.
Seeking his first title since the 2001 Japan Open, Teshima set fire to the Golf Club Twin Fields with four birdies on the front nine and four more on his inward journey to move one shot clear of Katsumasa Miyamoto with a 36-hole total of 13-under 131.
Miyamoto, riding high after coming from behind to capture last week's NST Niigata Open, also enjoyed a bogey-free journey over the 7,125 yard course for sole possession of second place.
