Two-time Olympian Hisaya Yoshimoto hoisted a total of 385 kg to win the men's over 105-kg title for the second straight time Saturday, the final day of the national weightlifting championships in Tokyo.
It was the Okinawan lifter's ninth overall national title. Yoshimoto, 30, who has his sights set firmly on his third straight Olympics in Athens, said, "I want to continue my career at least another year."
In other final-day action at the Ota-ku gymnasium, Kazue Imahoko heaved a Japanese record of 102.5 kg in the snatch and went on to win the women's 75-kg category with a meet record total of 217.5 kg.
