Daisuke Miura outdueled Koji Uehara in the only Central League game Tuesday as the cellar-dwelling Yokohama BayStars edged the Yomiuri Giants 3-2 at Tokyo Dome and sent the home team to its third straight loss.
The Giants wasted a no-out, two-on chance in the second inning and are now 11.5 games behind the front-running Hanshin Tigers.
Miura (3-2) did not allow a runner past first base from the third to seventh inning and was charged with two runs and six hits over eight innings.
Ryoji Aikawa, Hitoshi Tamura and Takanori Suzuki each drove in a run.
