South Korea and Japan have agreed to play an international friendly in Japan at the end of this month or in early June, Yonhap News Agency reported Friday.

According to the report, the friendly is scheduled for either May 31 or June 3, the day both countries were originally set to meet at the postponed East Asian Football Championships in Yokohama.

The East Asian championships, due to begin May 28, were called off Thursday because of fears of the spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS).
