Kosuke Kitajima posted an easy victory Sunday in the men's 100 meters breaststroke final but missed out on setting a world record on the final day of Japan's national swimming championships.
Kitajima, the world record holder in the 200 breaststroke, settled for a time of 1 minute, 00.23 seconds in the 100 final. Russia's Roman Sloudnov holds the world mark of 59.94.
