Mexico's Oscar Larios scored a unanimous decision over fifth-ranked Shigeru Nakazato of Japan on Saturday to retain his WBC super bantamweight title.
Larios knocked Nakazato down in the fifth round at Tokyo's Ryogoku Kokugikan and remained in control until the final bell. It was the third successful defense of the title that the 26-year-old Larios won in May last year.
With the victory, Larios improved to a record of 48 wins -- including 33 by knockout -- three losses and a draw. Nakazato dropped to 23-6.
