National team member Osamu Ueno claimed his first national title after winning the men's dual moguls at the freestyle skiing championships Wednesday.
Winter Asian Games gold medalist and hot favorite Yu Masukawa, who claimed victory in the men's moguls, crashed out in the third round of the head-to-head competition in Inawashiro and finished ninth.
Meanwhile Azusa Ito, who won Tuesday's moguls crown, made the most of the absence of Aiko Uemura and Tae Satoya by adding a second title in as many days after coming home first in the women's competition.
Uemura, a winner on the World Cup circuit this season, and former Olympic champion Satoya did not enter.
