Japan's Kosuke Kitajima set a short-course national record of 2 minutes, 6.00 seconds in the men's 200 meters breaststroke at a time trial race at the Tatsumi International Swimming Center on Saturday.
Competing in his first race in Japan after touring Europe for World Cup competitions, the 200 meters breaststroke world record holder shaved 0.32 seconds off the record he set in Berlin last month.
