Japanese teenager Daiki Ito won his first senior ski-jumping event when he leaped to victory at a second-tier Continental Cup meet in Slovenia on Sunday.
The 18-year-old 2002 Junior World Championship silver medalist recorded a first jump of 101 meters on the K-90 hill in Planica and followed with a 96-meter effort to finish with a total of 268 points.
Ito shared first place with Slovenian Jure Bogataj, who also chalked up 268 points after jumps of 101.5 and 95.5 meters.
