The Hiroshima Carp have acquired former Tampa Bay Devil Rays infielder Andy Sheets and two other players, officials of the Central League club said Thursday.
Hiroshima signed one-year deals with Sheets, who played in 41 games this year for Tampa Bay, outfielder Jimmy Hurst of the Independent League and right-hander Dave Lundquist of the San Diego Padres organization.
Sheets will earn $600,000, while Hurst and Lundquist agreed to $300,000 and $150,000, respectively.
