Olympic champions Kosei Inoue and Tadahiro Nomura may miss next month's Kano Cup international judo tournament through injury, judo officials said Monday.
Inoue, the 100-kg gold medalist in Sydney two years ago, has yet to return to top form after having bone chips removed from his left ankle in November, while 60-kg winner Nomura picked up an elbow injury during training earlier this month.
The Kano Cup is scheduled for Jan. 11-12 at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo.
