Japan's Toshimitsu Izawa and Shigeki Maruyama fired a 14-under-par 58 in four-ball play Saturday to charge into the lead after the third round of the World Cup.

Izawa made one eagle and seven birdies while Maruyama had five birdies as Japan, fifth after the first two rounds, vaulted to the top of the leaderboard with a 30-under 186 total for a one-shot advantage over Fiji's Vijay Singh and Japan-based Dinesh Chand.

Izawa put a disappointing season behind him to lead Japan's charge with birdies at Nos. 1, 3, 7, 8 and 11 before holing his second shot from 75 yards for eagle on the par-4 No. 13.

"Maru-chan (Maruyama) left a delicate distance so I tried to hit it nearer to the pin and then the ball disappeared into the cup," Izawa said of the eagle. "I made some putts when I needed to early on and that kept our momentum going into the back nine."
