Suzuki came on in the 77th minute and with his first touch put Wesley Sonck clean through and the Belgian international forward made no mistake from close range to break the deadlock in a game watched by Zico.

"I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. But I'm relieved I played a part in the goal," said Suzuki, who made his first appearance in four competitive matches for Genk.

"I didn't care much about Zico today because I set myself up for each game with the same mental approach," he added.

Zico came down to the pitch after the game to celebrate with the 26-year-old, whom the Brazilian has coached as technical director of Kashima Antlers and Japan manager for much of the last seven years.
