Japan midfielder Hidetoshi Nakata is eyeing a move to the Premier League, an English daily reported Thursday.

Nakata's agent traveled to England last week and sounded out several leading clubs over the possibility of a transfer, with a top London club thought to be the favored destination, according to the London Evening Standard.

After starring for Japan at the 1998 World Cup, Nakata secured a move to Italian side Perugia and 18 months later landed a rich deal with AS Roma.

Nakata then moved on to Parma for $26 million.
