Midfielder Junichi Inamoto played the full 90 minutes in a competitive match for the first time in three months Wednesday but Fulham crashed out of the Worthington Cup after an embarrassing 2-1 loss to second-division side Wigan.

Inamoto failed to impress in his first start in five games for Fulham, which fielded an under-strength side that conceded two first-half goals to striker Nathan Ellington in the fourth-round clash.

Luis Boa Morte pulled one back for Fulham four minutes from the final whistle, but it proved too late to stop a run of Wigan's Premier League scalps following its victories over Manchester City and West Bromwich Albion.

"I'm really depressed," Inamoto said bluntly after the match, which saw him booked for the first time in England.
