Second-seed Saori Obata swept aside top seed Shinobu Asagoe in straight sets to win the women's title at the national championships on Saturday.
The 24-year-old Obata dominated the match at Tokyo's Ariake Tennis Forest Park from start to finish and needed just 50 minutes to destroy an error-prone Asagoe 6-2, 6-1 to capture her second national title.
