Tsuneyuki Nakajima held off a late charge by Hidemichi Tanaka to win the Mitsui Sumitomo VISA Taiheiyo Maters by one shot for his second victory of the year.

Nakajima claimed his 47th career title on the Japanese Tour after shooting a final-round 70, which moved him to a 16-under-par total of 272 at the Taiheiyo Club Gotemba Course.

Starting the day two strokes ahead, Nakajima stretched the lead to four shots with two birdies on the front nine before a two-shot swing at 15 and a birdie at 16 pulled Tanaka within one and their matchup in the final group came down to the par-5 final hole.

Tanaka, who retained his U.S. PGA Tour card after his first full year on the world's toughest circuit, had 240 yards to the front edge of the green but hit his second shot into the pond.
