Chinatsu Mori set a Japanese record of 17.39 meters in the women's shot put Sunday, breaking her own record of 16.93 produced at the Asian Games in Pusan, South Korea, last month.
Mori's new mark came at the Hamamatsu Chunichi carnival track and field meet at Yotsuike Koen Stadium in Shizuoka Prefecture.
